Spin the Wheel — Random Name Picker
Type your names or options, hit spin, and let the wheel pick a fair random winner. Great for classrooms, giveaways, games and hard decisions.
How to use the wheel
- Type or paste your entries in the box, one per line. Names, prizes, chores, restaurants — anything works.
- Press Spin, click the wheel, or tap the button in the middle.
- When the wheel stops, the winner pops up. Choose Remove & close to take them off the wheel for the next round — handy for picking a running order or drawing several prizes.
Ideas for your wheel
- Teachers: pick who answers next, form presentation order, or choose a reward.
- Giveaways: paste your entrants and spin live on stream or in a meeting.
- Game night: truth or dare, which board game to play, or who goes first.
- Indecisive days: what’s for dinner, which movie, which chore to do first.
Frequently asked questions
Is the wheel really random?
Yes. The winner is chosen with your browser’s cryptographic random number generator (the same Web Crypto API used for security), and every entry has exactly the same chance. The spinning animation is only there to make it fun — it never changes the odds.
How many names can I put on the wheel?
Up to 200 entries. With more than about 40 names the text gets small, so for very large groups it can help to split them into a few wheels.
Can I save or share my wheel?
Your list is saved automatically in this browser, so it is still there next time you visit. Use “Copy share link” to get a link that opens the wheel with the same entries on any device.
Can I give one entry a bigger chance?
Add the same entry more than once. An entry that appears twice gets two slices and twice the chance of being picked.
Do you store the names I type?
No. The wheel runs entirely in your browser. Names are never sent to our server; they are only kept in your browser’s local storage and in the share link if you create one.
